My life used to be one filled with so much hardship. I was born in a poor family around ten kilometers from Battambang. I had three brothers and one sister, but my first brother passed away due to an electric shock. I attended the primary school near my village, walking through the rice field to get there every day.  I had a very small house because a fire destroyed my old house and everything inside. My parents tried very hard to earn money and support the family. However, my father had to work far away and could not earn much to support the family. My mother worked as a midwife in our community. I always got sick. Almost every year, for at least a month, I stayed in bed due to dengue fever. Sometimes during the year, I got typhoid fever on top of dengue fever.

Now, I live with my sick mother and my daughter at my mother’s house.  I work at TASSEL School of Cambodia, where I can learn and do so many things. I can meet and work with wonderful teachers and I can help my country by teaching children who are in need. I can do plenty of things to assist others who are less fortunate.  I can help the poor, who do not have access to private schools and learn English.

I am so happy to see the children in the village understand English and hope that in the future, they could use their knowledge to help other people in our country.

I enjoy working at TASSEL because TASSEL is unique, teaching English over video conference, visiting the poor, providing healthcare assistants for those in need. Moreover, there are great heroes and kind foreigners.

I have learned so many things from my team, my children, the foreign teachers, and the poor. It helps me to forget the terrible experiences I faced in the past and do not want to happen again. I am now receiving God’s love. I have hope and love, and I want the poor to have hope and love to continue their living.
